Another Almost a Week of School Lunches

Monster Munchies

I pack our lunches in Easy Lunchboxes. After 9 weeks of constant use (I have 8 boxes and make 8 lunches four to five days a week), they are still in great shape. I dropped one lid on the floor and then accidentally stepped on it and the tab part broke, but that is not a problem for use. Otherwise they are all still in perfect condition. I’m impressed at how well these boxes hold up!

Just four lunches this week. I had planned five, but then Jamie and I went out to dinner Thursday and so didn’t get home until late (I make our lunches the evening before) and Ani had really, really wanted chicken tenders covered in buffalo sauce so we picked some stuff up for those and that’s what we ate Friday instead of having packed lunches (I definitely prefer the packed lunches being ready and waiting at lunch time).

Lunches
Chicken toes (chicken cut into chunks with various herbs and spices and crushed Rice Krispies coating and baked at 400*F for 20 minutes or so), orange sauce (mixed ketchup and mustard) in the dip container
Grapes
Cheddar cheese mini rice cakes

Lunches
English muffin pizza sandwiches (English muffins with homemade pizza sauce, mozzarella, and pepperoni baked openfaced at 400*F for about 7 minutes and then put together into sandwiches)
Apples (dipped in lemon juice water in order to keep them from browning)
Pretzel crackers

Lunches
Bagels turned inside out, buttered, and cooked grilled cheese style with cheddar cheese, turkey bacon, and tomato, blue cheese dressing in the dip container
Red bell pepper slices
Caramel mini rice cakes

Lunches
Reubenesque sandwiches (Thousand Island Dressing, roast beef slices, pepper jack cheese, and pickles cooked for 30 or so seconds on each side over medium heat)
Peaches
Corn Pops cereal

So these lunches are eaten cold at lunchtime? Or do you have access to a microwave when its time to eat?

We homeschool so parts that are eaten warm are warmed up in our microwave right at home when it’s time for lunch (and my husband and father have access to microwaves at work as well) :)

That’s what I thought. My son goes to public school and they do not have access to a microwave. That puts some limits on what I can send in his lunch.
